Personalized Keepsake Boxes - Making a Keepsake Chest for Penny
Personalized Keepsake Boxes can be small decorative boxes that can be used for anything. Whether a keepsake box or keepsake chest, these items hold intrinsic value well beyond a monetary one. For myself, I received a redone “hope-chest” which could have also been deemed a keepsake chest for my 18th birthday. Keepsake crafts are a great way to give a gift or just commemorate a special moment in one’s life, such as the birth of a newborn. Below are the instructions for making the personalized keepsake chest for Penny. You can follow it exactly or let it inspire you to create your own personalized keepsake boxes.
Warning: This project will take you anywhere from an evening to the next day to complete. Materials used: 1 unfinished box or chest. Apple Barrel/Michael’s Acrylic Paint in Baby Pink Dimensional Stickers (13 pieces) by EKSuccess.com/Sticko Acid/Lignin Free scrap pack papers in light pink, fuscia, and chocolate brown Copper metal pennies The Bad Girls Stamp Kit (Lipstick, Heart, & Heel) Colorbox Pigment Stamp Pad in Cranberry (Acid-Free) Ribbon (Country Home Collection – Daisies. Directions:
1.) Paint the unfinished box, using a small sponge – in paint colors of baby pink and dark chocolate, all over the outside and on the inside roof of box chest. Allow an hour to dry.

2.) Use scrap paper to cover the walls and bottom of the chest. Apply Stamp Kit symbols on the bottom and sides inside, in stamp ink (Colorbox) in Cranberry.

3.) Add Pennies on the sides using Yes! Paste.

4.) Place stickers all over the outside of the chest.

5.) Sponge cranberry stamp ink onto inside edges of box. (optional)
6.) Using ribbon in daisy, cut, trim and paste onto both inside box edges and on the outside frame.

7.) Using Scribble Paint in yellow, I wrote the name Penny. This dries in about 3 to 4 hours solid.

As I instructed the recipient of this newly made keepsake, you will want to use acid-free tissue paper for wrapping your precious items in before placing in a box like this one.
This was just an example of what anyone could do using scrapbooking mixed with all the other fine arts out there. Have fun and best wishes for a beautiful project.
