Pet Scrapbooking - Scrapbooking for Pet Lovers

Pet Scrapbooking is an idea that acknowledges these creatures in our lives in a special way. They are not just an animal but often they are very much a part of our families. They are family.

Cats, dogs, even a cockatiel may bring back some interesting and unique memories that should be forever documented. While I don’t have a pet scrapbooking album in particular, I did do various pages for a special cat and for our family dog when we were growing up.

Pets come into our lives and eventually leave our lives in one way or another. It is the effect of their lives upon ours that screams to be remembered in the auspices of the our scrapbooking world. As some of our older pets passed on, eventually new ones seemed to work their way into our hearts again. I will be sharing some scrapbooking pages of my last cat, Chewy in photos like the “Hall of Chew” and a special page on a flame-point Siamese we called Clarence as an example of scrapbooking a tribute to our pet . These ideas should help inspire scrapbooking for pet lovers.

It has been said that pets have a positive effect on their owner’s health by lowering blood pressure and anxiety levels. In my workplace I have noted how much the humane society has brought a pet for visiting our many residents. It is a beautiful thing.

We will also take a look at what is out there in regard to pet scrapbooking supplies which could fit into any number of scrapbooking themes, cause who says everyone’s pages have to convey the same look? Our pets are as individual as we are.

Goldie Girl

Above is a photo of our late golden retriever, Goldie. She was totally cool. She even liked Bailey, the grey-point siamese that came along later, allowing him in the dog bed with her.

Some questions for consideration in scrapbooking about your pets are

• How did your pet come into your life?

• How did you come to name your pet?

• Why do you love your pet? Make a list.

• Does your pet have a favorite food?

You might also what to include photos of your pet sleeping, acting funny, being naughty, eating or playing.

Gallery of Chew

This photo (above) is the Gallery or Hall of Chew. Again, I loved taking photos in black and white. The paw was drawn with a gel pen.
