Scrapbooking Craft - A Home-Made Valentine in a Box

Scrapbooking craft idea takes on the texture of fabric among other embellishments as a homemade valentine in a box. Following are instructions on how I put together a special scrapbooking craft in a shadow box format using pieces of my prom gown...pieces of the past.

Below is a picture of my prom gown before the project.

Prom Gown 1986

Materials I used in this project are:

1. Pieces of my prom dress - fabric in pink with white lace

2. Krylon spray adhesive

3. Acid-free glue stick

4. Yes! Paste

5. Hot Glue Gun

6. Photos

Directions:

1. I chose a section of the old Prom Dress. Sprayed Krylon adhesive on the back that was to stick on the the rectangular paper stock.

2. Followed with the lacy part, using Krylon with that as well.

3. I sewed on the pearl buttons and bottom music notes in gold.

Hot glued the dark music silhouettes.

Finale - Added the pictures. One is of us dancing at my sister's wedding and the other is a kind of collage of our various childhood and youth photos. I used Yes! paste to attach them to the background.

Here is the final project.

I will talk more about working with fabric at a later date, but in time for Valentine's Day is this special project.

What do you think you could do with fabric in a scrapbooking craft manner?
