Seasonal Scrapbooking

Seasonal scrapbooking not only covers the holiday scrapbooking projects in our lives, and that it does, but it is also about the seasons of our lives. Seasonal scrapbooking will lay out ideas through different projects as to how to express those different seasons. Every month holds a special day for scrapbooking ideas. Find your favorite scrapbooking ideas here season to season.

Thoughts about less remembered holidays such as Valentines Day and St. Patrick’s are what helped me to choose “seasonal scrapbooking” here, but it can also be about the different seasons of our lives. How many of us find we are not quite the same person today that we were yesterday. How do you show the changes of your life in a scrapbooking page layout? The earth’s seasons themselves can be either a joy or a challenge to us, whether springtime, summertime, wintertime, or fall. Scrapbooking gives you just another outlet to display how you felt and put it on the page. Let the season of the day or moment of your life guide you in what you say or show on your page.

What is the season in your life? Interested in creating a recipe scrapbook? Have a special twist on an old recipe? How about a retirement scrapbook? Talk about all those places you plan to visit or are visiting you didn’t have time to do before. What is life like now that you don’t have to punch a time-clock? Remember your elders on days like Grandparent’s Day or Mothers and Father’s Day. Scrap about your children and the different stages each one is in. All these are different seasons of our lives and so you should allow time for seasonal scrapbooking.

For the avid scrapbooker, it is always the scrapbooking season. Yes, we even have a National Scrapbooking Day. I think it is the second Saturday in May. That is just the reason to break out all your scrapbooking supplies and go to work. Celebrate your life and someone else’s. Such things make wonderful scrapbooking gifts. Create your own seasonal scrapbook.

Love Baking

The picture above is of my nieces Alexandra and Audrey who were spending the night with me and we got together to make brownies. In honor of Valentine's Day I made this into a Valentine piece regarding the love of baking. In the case of valentines, you can make it about any kind of love you have.

I used cardstock for the background. They are both from a cardstock pad. One I purchased from Michael's, Pocket Full of Posies and Bazzil and another I received as a Christmas gift, Bazzil Basics. The lettering I created with a black gel pen.

Happy scrapbooking in the year ahead.
